Sept. 28, 2017

It is Teacher's Day today and it was great to hear the students throughout the school show their appreciation.

This morning we had the last spelling test for quarter 1. Because the students have many exams next week, a spelling test is not needed. We then had some time for some good story telling.

Just before lunch was Math. The students learned two more properties of multiplication and used them to multiply with 1 or 0.

To end the day we had Science, where we began a new unit on Plants and Animals. Today the students identified the parts of a plant and parts of the life cycle.

HOMEWORK:
1) Math p. 125
2) Science - please check your email and open the reader I sent you today. Please read pages 2 and 3 of the reader and answer the following questions in your notebook:
a) What are some things that plants need to survive?
b) Which of those things are the same as what a person needs to survive?
c) Please give 2 reasons why plants are important for us?

NOTICES:
- PE day tomorrow, please wear your house shirt (you should all have a new one now)
- reminder that specialty exams begin next week, and the students are getting the study guides for those classes this week

Have a great evening!

And thank you again for your kind words and generosity on this Teacher's Day.

Mr. Yaremchuk
